Celtic legend Chris Sutton doesn’t think that Scott Sinclair has much of a future at Celtic. The Hoops attacker has been left out of the Celtic squad in recent weeks. He has made only four appearances for the club this season.

Sutton believes that the player’s prospects of even making the substitutes’ bench seem ‘bleak’.

“Scott Sinclair appears to have no future at Celtic. Europa League squad or not, the winger has been out in the cold” Sutton said, as reported by the Daily Record.

“Sinclair’s chances of getting even a sub outing seem bleak after he had, in the eyes of most folk, a disappointing 2018-19 season.”

The fact that Sinclair has been included in the Europa League squad might be considered a bit of a surprise. However, that does not automatically mean that he will feature for the first-team in the near future.

The signs may have been there last season

Perhaps the signs were there for Sinclair last season, when Neil Lennon was Celtic’s caretaker manager. Sinclair went from a player who was a regular under Brendan Rodgers, to a player who was no longer first choice.

This has continued into this season. If Sinclair continues to not feature for the Hoops, it would be best for all concerned if he moved on in the January transfer window.

That will be an unfortunate way for his Celtic career to end. Sinclair has been a superb player for the Hoops in his time at the club. However, it seems like time is starting to run out on his Hoops career.
