Celtic defender Christopher Jullien has refuted a rumour emerging from his homeland that he could make a switch to relegated French club Amiens, The Daily Record reports.
On Thursday, outlet Foot-Sur7 reported that the Ligue 2 outfit were interested in making an ambitious move for the defender after an impressive debut campaign at the Scottish champions.
It was said he could be making the switch back across the channel.
However, the defender has made it clear he has absolutely no intention of saying goodbye to Celtic and confirmed he is here to make a push for ten-in-a-row.
Asked about the interest, he told The Daily Record: “It was on Thursday when someone sent me that. I thought it’s crazy! I will definitely be at Celtic, that’s for sure.”
The £7m signing (BBC) has quickly established himself as a fan favourite in Glasgow, not only performing superbly on the pitch but showing leadership qualities and regularly communicating with supporters on social media.
He made 47 appearances in 2019/20, forming an impressive partnership with Kristoffer Ajer and rarely letting the team down defensively.
The Frenchman also proved himself to be a big threat at the other end of the pitch, scoring seven goals for the Hoops, including crucial efforts against Lazio and Rangers.
He’s going to be absolutely crucial to our trophy chances this coming season, so it’s excellent news he isn’t interested in entertaining the notion of leaving for elsewhere.
No doubt the transfer window silly season will continue but this is one rumour we can definitively put to bed.
