It is fair to say that Southampton striker Charlie Austin isn’t very happy at the moment. The Sun reported that the Premier League side want to sell the striker, and he responded with an ‘astonishing rant’ at Saints boss Ralph Hasenhutll, after being told he wouldn’t be going on the club’s pre-season tour.
Player’s future seems to be in doubt at current club

The report goes on to claim that the player wants to stay at the club, but that could be unlikely after the outburst.
As Austin is only 30, he still has a lot to offer a club. Could that club be Celtic? He is the sort of experienced striker that the Hoops currently lack.
Could be worth taking a gamble on

He has found the going difficult at the Saints, but if he could recapture his QPR form he could be worth taking a gamble on.
The player has a year left on his contract, but perhaps after the reported outburst Southampton will be keen to sell the player.
That remains to be seen. Arguments happen at football clubs on a regular basis. However, should Austin become available, he could be a good signing for the Hoops.
Celtic only currently have two strikers on the books, Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths. It would be a wise move to add a third. Could Austin be that player? Only time will tell.
