Read MoreDeals done: Ange Postecoglou confirms no more January Celtic signings
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed there will be no more incoming signings before the end of the January transfer window.
The Bhoys have already added Alistair Johnston, Yuki Kobayashi, Tomoki Iwata and Hyeongyu Oh to the squad, with Josip Juranovic and Moritz Jenz heading to the Bundesliga.
It was expected that there would be no further additions, but Postecoglou confirmed the news in a media conference today.
As quoted by The Scotsman, he said: “There won’t be any other incomings. In terms of outgoings there are still some things happening in the background but nothing confirmed yet.
On the Giorgos Giakoumakis situation, Postecoglou added: “We are getting to the tail end of it one way or another and we will get a conclusion in the next 24 hours. Nothing concluded yet, just ongoing discussions.”
Postecoglou has already stated his happiness with the Celtic squad until the end of the season. He has a versatile group with depth in every position.
The Celtic manager has already given all of his January incomings a debut, which is a good sign they’ve all been signed to get regular minutes rather than be hidden ‘projects’.
No doubt the club are already planning for the summer window where the Bhoys boss will again be hoping to add more quality to his squad, bolstered by Champions League cash should we go on to win the league.
So, while we won’t get an exciting, late deadline day deal over the line, we can be confident of having the best squad in the country that is still improving all the time.
