Celtic’s transfer policy in recent weeks has to be alarming to the Hoops support. The Hoops have not mad any signings in recent weeks, and during that time they exited the Champions League to Cluj.
With less than two weeks before the window closes until January, time is not on Celtic’s side when it comes to transfer deals.
However, perhaps an emphatic first-leg win over AIK in the Europa League play-off could change things.
Waiting for play-off result before signing players?
It could be argued that Celtic are waiting to see if the club clinch a place in the Europa League group stages before making more signings.
That might not be the best transfer policy. However, it may well be the one that Celtic are adopting. Therefore, an emphatic win in the first leg could speed up the recruitment.
No excuses not to make signings
Should Celtic win 4-0 for example, it would all but guarantee European football up until Christmas. It could also mean that the Hoops have no excuses not to bring players in before the transfer window closes.
The transfer window started reasonably well for Celtic. However, it seems to have slowed to a crawl in recent weeks.
There is still time though for the transfer window to end successfully for the Hoops. That may depend on defeating AIK though. An emphatic win in the first leg could make that task easier.
