Craig Gordon has confirmed his retirement from football.
The goalkeeper, who made 242 appearances over six years at Celtic, called time on his 24-year career on Thursday.
After leaving the Hoops to return to boyhood club Hearts Gordon made a further 158 appearences, also making an unlikely return to prominence with the Scottish National Team.
Despite a stellar record of 12 trophies at the club (including three trebles), Gordon’s reputation among Celtic fans is mixed at best.

Craig Gordon retires
Gordon shared a two-and-a-half minute video on social media, in which he thanked Hearts and Scotland for “making dreams a reality”.
There is not one mention of Celtic in the video.

This epitomises a relationship which has soured significantly since Gordon famously fell to his knees in celebration when Tom Rogic secured the Invincible Treble in 2017.
Injured midway through the following season, his struggles for fitness allowed Scott Bain to establish himself as an option over the next 18 months.
By the time of Neil Lennon’s arrival, Bain was ahead of him in the pecking order. Fraser Forster’s return to the club in 2019 was the final straw.
Gordon then publicly criticised the club for offering him a pay cut upon joining Hearts, also accusing Chris Sutton of launching a “personal campaign” against him.
When he faced the Celts in the Scottish Cup final a few months later, he furiously threw the ball at Odsonne Edouard after the Frenchman humiliated him with a dinked penalty.
Then, of course, there’s the most recent campaign, in which he was an active cheerleader in Hearts’ spectacularly-unsuccessful bid to win the title.
If he hadn’t already, his labelling of Martin O’Neill’s title win as an “injustice” alienated many Hoops fans for good.
