FC Copenhagen have denied trying to pursue brand new Celtic signing Patryk Klimala.
The Pole signed last week for the Hoops on a four and a half year deal from his native land.
Klimala was asked about other interest in him and he confirmed his future Europa League opponents were one of his potential suitors. [Daily Record]
However, the Danish outfit are denying any such interest in the striker through a Twitter post.

The Hoops’ first signing of the winter window came last week with Klimala signing for £3.5 million. [BBC]
Neil Lennon was sorely needing a striker to give proper competition up front.
The Polish under-21 international joins the Scottish champions from Jagiellonia Bialystok in Poland.
As is usual, the new man is always asked where he was also offered and Klimala confirmed that FC Copenhagen was one such destination.
He told the Daily Record: “It’s true there was a bid from Copenhagen on the table.
“But as soon as Celtic came in with their offer I wasn’t considering any of the other clubs. I’m looking forward to playing against Copenhagen in Europe now.”
These words are appearing to upset the Danish side across the water and are quick to deny the quote.
Danish giants oppose Polish striker’s signing claim on Twitter
The Danes took to Twitter to dispel the claims made by the Celtic striker over the weekend.
They said: “There are stories in the media today that FCK should have tried to buy Polish striker Patryk Klimala.
“Normally, we do not comment on this, but in this case, FCK has not submitted a bid to either club, player or his agent.”
It appears the Danish side are reeling about being dragged into the Klimala saga.
The whole debate gives a little bit of an edge before the two teams clash next month in the Europa knock-outs.
Klimala will be looking to score against the team he believes he turned down for the Hoops. Meanwhile, the Danes will be aiming to keep him quiet and prove why they didn’t bid for him.
It’s funny and ironic how sudden rivalries appear out of nothing before European ties this season.
