Celtic’s attempts to recruit in the transfer market seem to have been going on all summer. The Hoops have so far signed three players, with hopefully more on the way.
One market that the Hoops could look to explore is that of the free agent. There are more than a few decent players that are currently without a club.
Player is without a club

One free agent that should be near the top of Celtic’s transfer list is Remi Walter. The midfielder is currently without a contract after leaving Nice in the summer.
Walter was a semi-regular for Nice last season, making 22 appearances and scoring 4 goals.
Extremely versatile player

More importantly though, is the variety of positions he can play in across the middle of the park.
He is normally a defensive or central midfielder. But he has also played as an attacking midfielder. That should appeal to Neil Lennon.
The Hoops do have plenty of midfielders, but there has to be a danger that they will end up playing too many games. This is particularly the case for Scott Brown and Callum McGregor.
Therefore, a player like Walter could come in and ease the burden on those players.
If the Hoops are interested in the player, it would be a good move to get a deal done as soon as possible. The player could be integrated in the squad for the Champions League qualifiers.
Perhaps Walter isn’t even on Celtic’s radar when it comes to new signings. But he should be, as he could add a lot to the squad.
