What a few weeks this has been for Celtic.
From Celtic crashing out of the Champions League to now having a 2025 summer transfer window to forget, it’s beyond embarrassing.
It has to be questioned how Celtic have managed to put themselves in this situation, and somehow make matters worse with some of their outgoings.
On transfer deadline day, Adam Idah joined Swansea City after a mixed spell in green and white colours, as current and former players reacted to his exit.

Greg Taylor and Arne Engels react to Adam Idah leaving Celtic
Another man who left Celtic this summer was Greg Taylor, who decided to secure a free transfer to PAOK.
Following Idah’s exit, Taylor took to Instagram to share his thoughts, alongside Celtic’s club-record transfer Arne Engels, as well as former goalkeeper Joe Hart.
This is what they wrote in the comments section of the Republic of Ireland star’s Instagram post:
- Taylor: ❤️❤️ Idah 🔥
- Engels: All the best, bro 🥲❤️
- Hart: Don’t mind it, bud 💚💚. Best of luck, Adz
- Troy Parrott: Good luck, bro.
- Danny Batth: 👏👏👏
Idah should never have left for Swansea City
There is no doubt that Idah divided opinion in Glasgow, but how have Celtic allowed him to leave, as well as Kyogo Furuhashi, without proper replacements coming in?!
It just makes matters far worse, and in truth, like Hyunjun Yang’s collapsed move to Birmingham City, he should never have been allowed to leave.
This doesn’t mean that Idah was the answer to Celtic’s problems, and yes, they have done well to claw back £7 million for his talents, but he should still be at the club given the lack of options.
- Celtic games: 76
- Goals: 29
