The 33-year-old has had a stop-start few years due to injury.
After leaving Newcastle United in the summer, he left to join West Ham but has found his contract cut short early.
By no means a long-term signing, he could come in and fill the void until the end of the season, but the idea of committing to him has left the fanbase split down the middle.
