Celtic will be competing in the 2025/26 edition of the Europa League this season.

The Hoops were demoted to Europe’s second tier competition after crashing out in the Champions League play-off round against Kairat Almaty.

Despite a rocky start to their campaign in the Europa League, the Bhoys are still hoping to go far in the tournament.

Celtic have plenty of games left to right the wrongs of the loss to Braga and draw with Crvena Zvezda, with ties against European giants AS Roma and Feyenoord around the corner.

But how does Celtic’s squad value compare to those teams, and the other teams in the tournament?

Celtic have a squad value worth four times less than Nottingham Forest

In terms of prestige and history, Celtic are one of the biggest names in the Europa League but their squad value isn’t the same.

As per Transfermarkt, the Hoops’ squad is worth €130m, ranking them 21st in the list.

To put that into perspective Nottingham Forest’s squad (€599m), which is the most valuable in the tournament, is worth over four times more than Celtic’s. Meanwhile upcoming opponents AS Roma’s squad is worth a whopping €377m while Feyenoord’s is worth a bit less at €218m.

Squads which are perhaps surprisingly worth more than Celtic include Freiburg (€163m), Braga (€161m) and Genk (€153m).

Celtic’s squad is worth more than Rangers

Despite Rangers’ attempts to splash the cash this summer, their squad still isn’t on the same level as the one assembled by the Bhoys.

Danny Rohl’s side is valued at €106m – some £24m behind Celtic.

There is still plenty of work to do for Rodgers and co in the final few days of the window, so that value could still climb before the 1 September deadline.
