There weren’t too many surprise exits at Celtic this summer.
From players who weren’t really given a chance by Brendan Rodgers, such as Maik Nawrocki, who joined Hannover 96 on a loan deal, to the regular starter Nicolas Kuhn signing for Como for just under £17 million.
But the one that many expected and saw on the cards was Greg Taylor seeing out his contract, and then deciding to put pen to paper on a deal with Greek side, PAOK.
Many of the Celtic Park faithful were seeing it from a mile off, especially with Kieran Tierney returning to the club, but Charlie Adam didn’t see it that way.

Charlie Adam ‘surprised’ Greg Taylor has left Celtic
Taylor’s exit was officially confirmed after the conclusion of the season, as Adam shared that he met the left-back on holiday this summer and asked him, ‘what he was doing?’
To Adam’s surprise, he didn’t think Taylor would leave, but he understands that earning those regular minutes is ‘massive for him’, as he told The Warm Up.
“I met him on holiday in the summer,” shared Adam. “I asked him, ‘what he was doing?’ I am surprised he has gone and left.
“But obviously, game time is massive for him, isn’t it?! It’s a big move for him. A good move for him.”
Celtic will go ‘big’ for a striker amid Rangers’ title challenge
The new season is here, with Celtic starting off against St Mirren, and Rodgers looking to defend another Premiership crown.
It’s all change at Rangers this summer, from added investment to a new manager, as Adam told his former club that they must ‘come in and challenge’ the champions of Scotland.
In the meantime, Adam expects ‘big money’ to be spent on that goalscorer the Celtic manager is looking for.
“I think he (Rodgers) will get one (a striker),” claimed Adam. “I think they will spend big money. I think they will go for somebody who they need to get the goals.
“The Champions League is massive for both clubs, isn’t it?! It’s huge. I think Celtic know this is an opportunity for them to step again.
“Again, they are favourites for the league. But Rangers have to come in and challenge them, and catch them.”
