Odsonne Edouard was a key player for Celtic during Brendan Rodgers’ first spell at the club.
Brought to the club on loan from PSG by Brendan Rodgers, Edouard was a roaring success at the Parkhead club and pivotal to securing the Quadruple Treble.
Edouard became one of Celtic’s most expensive transfer sales of all-time after he completed his £14m move to Crystal Palace in 2021.
And now, four years on, the French striker is on the move again and it’s for less than what the original fee was mooted for the former Celtic man.

Ex-Celtic man Odsonne Edouard on brink of Crystal Palace exit to Lens for less than €5m
It was first reported that Edouard was set to leave Crystal Palace this summer for a fee of £3.7m.
Now, on transfer deadline day, it appears that the upfront fee will be even less after French journalist Fabrice Hawkins’ latest update.
Hawkins said on X, “Exclusive: Lens / Crystal Palace agreement for Odsonne Édouard.
“Transfer of €5M including bonuses. 3-year contract. The striker is expected in Lens in the coming hours to undergo his medical and sign his contract.”
If the fee includes bonuses then it is likely that Lens are paying much less than the £3.7m fee that was first mooted two weeks ago.
Odsonne Edouard’s Celtic stats vs Crystal Palace
Edouard scored goals for fun at Celtic and despite the narrative that he downed tools in the COVID season, the big Frenchman was still the top goalscorer despite every player failing that season.
Here is how Edouard’s stats at Celtic compare to his time at Crystal Palace.
| Odsonne Edouard | Played | Goals | Assists | Trophies |
| Celtic | 179 | 87 | 37 | 11 |
| Crystal Palace | 105 | 21 | 5 | 1 |
With just hours to go in the transfer window, Celtic fans will see how Edouard will do as he looks to kickstart his career in his homeland in Ligue 1.
