Jonjoe Kenny has given his first interview since becoming a Celtic player.

The defender has also posted excitedly on Instagram after signing for the Bhoys.

He said on the social media site: “Been a long time coming this one, can’t wait to step out at paradise!”

Kenny has sent a clear message that he’s ready to take part in Celtic action too.

In fact, he’s desperate to play after joining from Everton on loan.

He told “I want to be involved straight away and we’ll see what happens. I’m just made up to be here and we’ll see what happens tomorrow, but the quicker I can play, the better it’ll be for me.”

The right-back took part in Celtic training at Lennoxtown yesterday and could go straight into the squad for tonight’s trip to Kilmarnock.

Celtic have been bigging up his potential participation on social media channels.

Kenny is delighted to get settled in quickly and get to know his teammates, going on to tell the official website: “There’s a lot of history in the air and a lot of top players have come and gone from here, so it was the first day and it was just good to be involved and train with the lads.

“The lads were brilliant – people from Glasgow are similar to Scousers – so it’s been brilliant for me to come in and settle in quickly.”

It was a disappointing winter transfer window for Celtic fans. However, we can at least hope Kenny fills a gap on the right flank until the end of the season.

We need a bit of freshness in the team and it should start tonight at Rugby Park.
