Celtic look to be continuing a trend of filtering down Brendan Rodgers’ squad despite the transfer window in Scotland being closed for business.

In light of his well-documented off-field struggles, Israeli winger Liel Abada looks set to depart Parkhead for Major League Soccer outfit Charlotte FC in a deal that could be worth around £10 million [Sky Sports].

Pending his medical and paperwork being completed, the 22-year-old is expected to see a move to the United States finalised after encountering a difficult period during his time in Glasgow.

On the same token, Yuki Kobayashi has been subject to interest from elsewhere, including Finnish giants HJK Helsinki, and it remains to be seen whether he will seal an out-of-window move over the coming weeks.

Despite being in the middle of an ongoing pursuit to try and claim a domestic double, Celtic boss Rodgers appears to be determined to deliver on his wish to trim what has become a bloated group during his second tenure in Glasgow.

Late last year, the Irishman claimed that his perfect squad size would sit at around the 25-player mark, and he could be set to offload another fringe man if reports from elsewhere are to be believed.

Journalist claims Alexandro Bernabei is set to leave Celtic

According to Argentinian journalist Cesar Luis Merlo on social media platform X, Celtic defender Alexandro Bernabei looks set to leave Glasgow and join Brazilian outfit Sport Club Internacional.

In translation, his post reads: “Alexandro Bernabei is Inter’s new reinforcement. He arrives from Glasgow Celtic. Sources from Scotland confirm that it is already a #TratoHecho.”

This term, the 23-year-old has occasionally been called upon at Celtic, making nine appearances in total across all competitions [Transfermarkt].

As of yet, there aren’t any further details revealing whether Bernabei would depart on a permanent basis or in a loan switch; however, we will need to keep an eye out for any immediate developments.

Undoubtedly, the Argentinian defender has flattered to deceive since joining the Hoops for a fee in the region of £3.75 million in 2022 [Sky Sports].

Nevertheless, any deal involving an exit would provoke questions surrounding the depth Rodgers has available to him in the left-back position.
