Former Celtic striker Kenny Miller, one of the few players to have played for both Celtic and Rangers, has explained why he decided to join Celtic in 2006.
The former Hoops striker had already played for Rangers when he joined the Hoops from Wolves. He moved to Celtic Park as he wanted to experience regular Champions League football.
“Scored goals”

“I felt going to Celtic at that time and playing in the Champions League. I had a wee taste of it with Rangers, but I had only played one game. I scored goals in the Champions League as well” he said, whilst appearing on the Football Daft podcast.
It has to be said that the move worked out for Miller in that case. He has excellent for the Hoops in the one Champions League campaign he played in for the club.
He scored twice in a 3-0 win over Benfica, and scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Copenhagen. Miller’s time at Celtic was short-lived, as he signed for Derby at the start of the following season.
Helped the Hoops win trophies

But as he helped the Hoops to a league and cup double and a place in the last 16 of the champions League, Miller’s time at the club can be considered a success.
Of course, he will never be the most popular man with the Celtic support. Signing for Rangers on three separate occasions will make sure of that.
However, Miller will have no regrets about his career, and he is still playing, for Partick Thistle. It was interesting to get his reasoning for moving to Celtic, and in the end, it was a move which paid off for the player.
