Kevin Nisbet's Instagram full of Celtic pals amidst transfer speculation
Celtic target Kevin Nisbet has posted an Instagram story of himself with some Hoops pals, from his international duty with Scotland.
Nisbet, who made 3 substitute appearances at Euro 2020, was identified by the Sun as a Bhoys target in May [Sun]. With Celtic looking to bolster their attack, especially in the event of Edouard leaving, the Hibs marksman is a prime candidate. New Bhoys boss Ange Postecoglou will be eyeing the Scottish market, as he begins his chase on the Premiership title.
The Hibs striker shared a snap of himself with Greg Taylor, James Forrest and David Turnbull, as well as former Bhoy Kieran Tierney. If he had been mulling over a move, surely KT would’ve been the chief cheerleader!
Nisbet, formerly of Dunfermline Athletic and Partick Thistle, impressed in his debut season at Easter Road. He even asked for a transfer in the winter, with Birmingham City’s advanced rebuffed by the Edinburgh club [Birmingham Mail]. Little matter, though; the Scotland striker bagged 18 goals in all competitions for Hibs, regardless [Transfermarkt].
Kevin Nisbet’s Instagram antics will have Celtic fans talking
It seems beyond likely that Nisbet is once again considering his options. Ever the ambitious type, Nisbet hasn’t stayed too long at any of the clubs he’s joined. Raith Rovers have seen the most of him at the time of writing, with the striker netting a ludicrous 34 times in 46 outings, with 5 assists [Transfermarkt].
He’s been even more assist-happy at Hibs, bagging 8, and seemingly comfortable either setting up or taking chances when required. His first international goal, against Holland [BBC], was the biggest sign yet of his willingness and ability to play at a higher level.
Being a Celtic striker is, indeed, a higher level. And we’re not going to suggest that he’s asking Turnbull, Taylor and Tierney (The ‘T’ Amigos?) for advice, or dropping a hint. However, if he was, he could do a lot worse.
It’s a move Celtic supporters want, and it would represent some real ambition to take back what’s ours; the Scottish Premiership trophy.
