Former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips reckons current Black Cats forward Charlie Wyke would jump at the chance of joining Celtic this summer.
Wyke was linked with a move to the Bhoys last week by former Celtic player Mark Wilson, who reported information on The Celtic Huddle podcast.
Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie has also reported a number of English Championship clubs are keen on the forward, who is out of contract this summer.
30-goal Sunderland striker Charlie Wyke is attracting interest from Championship clubs ahead of the transfer window opening.

Phillips, a former European Golden Boot winner with Sunderland, reckons if a move to Celtic came up for Wyke, he’d jump at the chance.
He told Football Insider: “When a move like that comes around you have to take it. You think that it won’t come around again if you don’t take it.
“If Celtic did come in for Wyke with a serious offer then the player would have no option but to go. It would be incredible for him to play in front of a full Celtic Park.
“If they came in I think the player would jump at the chance to be honest with you.”
Would Charlie Wyke be a good Celtic signing?
There’s no doubt that Wyke is enjoying a good season in League One. He’s netted an impressive 29 goals in all competitions for Sunderland. It’s no surprise to hear him linked with teams in a higher division.
However, is he a one-season wonder?
His career goalscoring record isn’t as impressive as this term. The last time he hit more than ten goals in a campaign was three seasons ago. He has never scored more than 20 outside of 2020/21. [Transfermarkt]
He’s no youngster either at 28-years-old. Wyke doesn’t strike me as having the kind of profile you’d expect Celtic to be looking at.
Even on a free, I’d rather avoid.
