Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Kieran Tierney will be a Celtic player once again.

The manager revealed all in his press conference building towards Champions League action against Aston Villa to come tomorrow evening.

Jota has already entered the building from Rennes in a five-and-a-half year deal to mark one sensational comeback.

And after a January saga, of sorts, Tierney has also agreed terms on a Hoops return in what must go down as one of the most exciting windows in some time.

Kyogo is one who left the club but a striker remains on Celtic‘s hitlist.

Tierney has agreed to join Celtic from Arsenal

But it is Tierney that Rodgers has addressed specifically this evening and confirmed it’s a deal already signed off on.

Rodgers said: “Ideally it would (happen in January) but he’s still at this moment an Arsenal player.

“I think everyone is agreed that will definitely take place in the summer.

“If we can do it beforehand, then great.”

The gaffer was also asked about the situation surrounding Alex Valle who is due to leave the club this month.

Barcelona agreed to loan him to Como and Rodgers was asked to clarify.

And he added: “He’s in Barcelona at the moment and will probably move on to another team.

“We’re disappointed he’s left, but we have to move on.”

Greg Taylor, if Celtic can agree the January move for Tierney before the window shuts in six days, will likely be the Hoops’ backup to KT having been first-choice for a number of seasons.

That was under Ange Postecoglou where he played the inverted full-back role and then under Rodgers who has brought his game on further.

It remains to be seen, however, whether Taylor will still be a Celtic player himself in the summer with his contract coming to an end when the season concludes.

Rodgers has made it clear he hopes to keep Taylor and extend his deal.

It comes amid transfer interest in Taylor with Dinamo expressing a desire to sign the player earlier this window.
