Kristijan Lovric has the raw firepower to be a huge hit at Celtic

I’m pretty excited about the Celtic link to HNK Gorica talent Kristijan Lovric.

As we discussed last night, reports in his homeland indicate that the Bhoys have made contact with his club about a potential move.

A formal offer has yet to be made, but the interest from Celtic is direct. Other clubs such as Italian Serie A side Hellas Verona are also said to be keen.

So yeah, it’s a wait and see job. But there’s plenty to be optimistic about when it comes to his potential signing.

That’s primarily because of his firepower and goalscoring ability, which has marked him out as one of the best talents in his league and pushed him towards the Croatian national team.

Lovric signed for Gorica for a £450,000 fee in 2018 and it’s fair to say he’s paid that back.

In the three seasons since he’s scored a healthy 44 goals in 96 appearances from the left wing, as well as contributing 23 assists. He added another assist to that tally at the weekend in a 3-1 win over Sibenik. [Transfermarkt]

It’s the kind of consistent goal contribution figures that could make him a real hero with the Celtic support. If he could replicate that in Scotland, he’d be well worth the multi-milion pound fee it is suggested he will cost.

Along with Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada, who both have good goal conversion rates themselves, Celtic’s attack would have a potent new look to it.

Nothing ever seems to come easy with Celtic signings, but if the transfer gods are smiling down on us, we’ll see Lovric in a Celtic shirt before too long.

The defence is a huge priority, but putting the finishing touches to our attack early could really pay off in the Scottish Premiership.

Many fans are definitely like me, and eager for Lovric to sign, with this lot taking to Twitter over the last 48 hours to share their thoughts on all the rumours…
