Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard will be familiar to Serie A side Lazio after the Hoops played the Rome-based team twice in the Europa League earlier this season, but as reported by the Scottish Sun, the Italian side haven’t bid for the striker in the January window.

The report quotes Lazio sporting director Igli Tare, who even though he is a fan of the striker has disclosed that they have not made a move for the Frenchman.

“Edouard from Celtic? Yes, I like him, but I haven’t made a move for him” Tare said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

Tare’s quotes can only be good news for Celtic. Edouard is far too important a player to be sold by the Hoops, especially in the January transfer window.

Teams will undoubtedly be interested in signing player

There is little doubt that teams will be interested in signing Edouard, although you have to think that even if a massive bid comes in before the transfer window closes the Hoops will reject it.

Leicester City have been linked with a move for Edouard in the past, the Daily Record reported that Brendan Rodgers’ side were preparing a £30 million bid for the player to be tabled in the summer.

Hoops might well receive bids in summer

There might well be a few bids like that in the summer. Celtic will most likely be expecting those. However, that can be dealt with in the summer.

At the moment, Celtic should be committed to making sure that nine in a row is clinched this season.

That means that Edouard stays until the summer at least. Celtic will be well-aware of that though, and will ensure that the player isn’t sold any time soon.
