Young Celtic star Ben Summers could be on his way out of the club on loan this summer.
The midfielder, who made his senior debut in April, is reportedly wanted by Dunfermline Athletic.
The Daily Record‘s Scott Burns says that the Championship side want to sign Summers on loan and have already made an approach to Celtic.
The Pars want to give Summers first-team experience and have good recent relations with Celtic having taken Ewan Otoo on loan last season, before signing him permanently in this window.
Summers has a bright future ahead of him. He was one of the leading youngsters last season and even won the club’s Academy Player of the Year award in May. (Celtic)
He featured in a couple of matches at the end of the campaign and even played 25 minutes in Japan. But he hasn’t made the match day squad for our last three matches against Wolves, Athletic Club and Ross County.

Brendan Rodgers is still assessing the Celtic squad and it’s not yet clear what he makes of Summers. Regardless, an opportunity to go out and play first-team football must be viewed as a real positive in his development.
Summers is contracted at the club until 2025 after signing a new deal last September (Celtic). Celtic’s likely stance is that the Championship is a far higher level than the Lowland League and Summers could benefit from playing regularly.
He is unlikely to get that game-time at Celtic this season.
