It looked as if Celtic’s Marian Shved was going to make an impact for the Hoops this season when he scored a great goal in the 2-0 win over Nomme Kalju back in July.
However, since then the winger has made only one other appearance in a Celtic jersey, when he played the last 15 minutes in the 6-0 win over Ross County in October. Shved has played only 35 minutes in total for the Hoops this season, making two apperances.
Only made two apperances this season
That is nowhere near enough football for a player if he wants to establish himself in the first team. To be fair to Neil Lennon though, Celtic’s wingers have been in great form this season. With that in mind, it could be a good idea for Shved to move on loan in January.
That would do the player more good than sitting on the bench each week, or not even getting on the bench on occasion.
Player had a good pedigree when he joined
Shved looked like he was going to be an excellent signing when he joined the Hoops in January. He completed his season with Karpaty Lviv, where he scored 15 goals in 26 games.
Interestingly Shved did play as a second striker at times for his former side, but Neil Lennon has elected not to use the player in that position. The reason for that you would imagine is because Celtic only play with one striker, and for most of this season that position has been Odsonne Edouard’s.
Therefore, Shved has not managed to find a place in the Hoops side. The chances of the player featuring for Celtic between now and the opening of the transfer window seems remote. A move in January would do the player good.
Hopefully he will get regular game time, and return to Celtic with plenty of confidence ahead of next season, ready for Neil Lennon to take another look at him.
