Celtic boss Neil Lennon has indicated that recent Hoops signing Moritz Bauer could feature in Sunday’s Glasgow derby against Rangers.
Bauer completed a season long loan move to the Hoops from Stoke on Wednesday. Lennon has revealed that the player’s fitness levels may mean that he may feature at some stage of the derby.
“He’s very fit, good attitude and strengthening up one of the positions we’ve been looking at” Lennon said, as reported by Celtic’s Twitter account.
“See how he is”
“He’ll train tomorrow, and then we’ll gauge him again on Saturday and see how he is.”

Judging by Lennon’s comments, how Bauer fares in training on Saturday could dictate how involved he is in the Glasgow derby.
It would certainly be a huge gamble to involve Bauer in the game. A trip to Ibrox is one of the most difficult venues for a Celtic player to make their debut for the club.
Didn’t play often last season
When you add in the fact that Bauer hasn’t been playing first-team football on a regular basis, it would be even more of a gamble. Last season he made only 11 first-team appearances for Stoke.
However, Neil Lennon hasn’t been afraid to take chances when it comes to team selection before. Who knows, should Bauer feature in a Celtic win at Ibrox, it could be the making of the player.
It would be a risk for Lennon to start Bauer at Ibrox. However, if the Hoops boss believes that it would improve that chances of Celtic winning at Ibrox, then it may well happen. Only time will tell.
