Neil Lennon is unsure as to how Celtic’s January capture of Nicolas Kuhn fits into Brendan Rodgers’ plans.
When the winter transfer window opened, many areas of the pitch were discussed, about needing an upgrade.
From Greg Taylor needing a push at left-back to possibly some firepower being added in the version of a striker, or even a defensive-minded midfielder.
One of the last areas Celtic fans probably expected to be bulked up was the wide departments, but the club, led by Brendan Rodgers, have now made that call.
When Neil Lennon was asked ‘where Nicolas Kuhn fits in?’, he was pretty honest in saying that he doesn’t know because of the options on offer, as he told Viaplay (21/01/24 at 6:15 pm).
The 24-year-old will be looking to make his Celtic debut on Saturday against Ross County – if fit and ready – he was at Parkhead for the Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle.
Nonetheless, when Neil Lennon was asked how the former Rapid Vienna man fits into Celtic going forward, he issued the following response.
Nicolas Kuhn’s role at Celtic
“That’s a very good question,” said Lennon. “There is so much competition in those areas.
“It’s a difficult one because there are so many (options), then you have someone like James Forrest.
“I don’t know is the answer. Brendan will make that decision. We have to see the condition of the player. It might take him a little bit of time to adapt to the British game or the Scottish game.
“He is obviously an asset and they have seen something in him that they think he can bring to the team, whether the squad is going to be trimmed. I would imagine it would over the next week or two.
“In what area? I can’t answer that. But we may look to bring in one or two more players in different positions as well.”

Liel Abada and Luis Palma to start
You would imagine with Daizen Maeda way on Asian Cup duty, and Kuhn just arriving, then it leaves the door open for Abada and Palma to start, as of this moment.
The duo did just that at the weekend and there is no reason why Rodgers doesn’t stick to that plan.
But where things will become interesting is if Kuhn starts well, Maeda returns and then the Celtic boss has a pretty big selection headache.
