New Celtic signing Greg Taylor got a warm sendoff from online Kilmarnock fans on Monday night, after his transfer to the Hoops was confirmed.
The Scotland international has made the switch to Celtic Park on a four-year deal.
While the fee is officially undisclosed, The Evening Times have reported he was signed for £2.2m.
He will now compete with another summer arrival, Boli Bolingoli, for a spot in Neil Lennon’s starting eleven.
In total he made 131 appearances for the Rugby Park side, amassing some good experience for his age.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the best defenders in Scottish football over the last 18 months or so. He was an integral part of the Steve Clarke side that finished third in the Scottish Premiership last term.
His form has been so good at club level that he’s now considered a viable left-back for Scotland in support of Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney.
Hopefully he can emulate the latter at the Hoops, although direct comparisons would be unfair. The defender needs the time and patience to make his own impact at Celtic Park.
Going by the reaction of Kilmarnock fans to his exit, we have a quality player on our hands who will prove to be a committed performer.
These supporters took to Twitter to wish the new Celtic man well on his new adventure…
That’s how it’s done, touch of class. Always a hero to us

I never thought I would ever be proud of anyone to leave our club. It’s been a pleasure to see you develop into the best left back in Scotland, a real role model for any young player in the game. I wish you every success in the future. If we’re not winning it I hope you are 🔵⚪️

Class! Your first tweet is to thank everyone at Kilmarnock before you talk about your new adventure. That is how you win friends and gain respect. Best wishes for the future.
