Celtic are eyeing a move for Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden before the end of the summer transfer window, it has been reported this weekend.
The Scottish Sun say that Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing in another attacker to the mix at the Bhoys and that Kvistgaarden is one of the options being considered.
The Danish U21 international stars for Brondby in his homeland’s top-flight and netted 10 goals in all competitions last term. His breakthrough came towards the end of the season when he netted six goals and contributed four assists in a run of just nine matches.
He’s started the 2023/24 campaign as a firm fixture in his club’s starting eleven, scoring once and assisting twice in four games.
Kvistgaarden has also been an international teammate of Bhoys star Matt O’Riley in the Danish U21s side over the last year, netting four goals in 11 appearances at that level for his country.
Celtic have Kyogo Furuhashi installed as the prime striking option at the Bhoys, with Hyeongyu Oh and Daizen Maeda in support. However, more depth would be nice and bringing in a young, ambitious forward who can improve over time is a good way to go.

Celtic also still have Albian Ajeti on the books and may well want to move him on for good before shelling out on another central striking option. The Swiss forward isn’t in the reckoning at all at the Bhoys but is still hoovering up wages.
If the club are now actively pursuing another forward option, it may well mean there is confidence that the 2020 signing will be moved on by the end of the window, which would be good news for all concerned.
In other news, 3 transfers Celtic can still complete before the end of the summer window.
