Former Celtic striker Pierre van Hooijdonk has some career advice for current Hoops attacker Odsonne Edouard – and the Frenchman should pay heed to what the former striker has to say.
Van Hooijdonk hopes the player just concentrates on football and does not get distracted along the way.
“He’s a nice prospect” van Hooijdonk said, as reported by the Herald.
“Not losing your head”
“But he still has to keep improving. That is the main thing – not losing your head along the way. If he does that then there could be some beautiful things for him in the future.”
That is good advice for Edouard. If he just concentrates on his game, he can go on to achieve some great things.
That might not be at Celtic though. It seems inevitable that the player will move on from Celtic in the near future. Until then though, he has to concentrate on his game.
To be fair, that seems to be the sort of player that Edouard is. He does not seem to be kind of player who will agitate for a move away from the club.
Just seems to get on with game
He just seems to get on with his game. So far, that has paid off for both the player, and the club. If he keeps doing what he is currently doing, there is no doubt that he could play for a club in one of Europe’s biggest leagues some time in the future.
Where Edouard can really do his talking is on the pitch. He does not need to talk about his future, and can concentrate on matters on the pitch.
Thankfully, that is what he has been doing so far. That is why Neil Lennon will be so pleased with how he has performed this season.
There will no doubt be speculation surrounding the player’s future, but so far he has now allowed it to distract from his game.
