Celtic seem to be making progress in the January transfer window after what was a slow start to proceedings. Patryk Klimala recently signed for the club, whilst the Daily Record claim that Ismaila Soro should join the Hoops sometime over the weekend.

That means that the Hoops will have made additions to the squad at striker, and central midfield. However, there is one area of the squad that has to be addressed by Neil Lennon before the window closes.

That area of the pitch is on the wing. The Hoops need another winger to replace Scott Sinclair and Lewis Morgan. One such player who should be under consideration as a possible signing for the Hoops this month is Bournemouth’s Jordon Ibe.

Ibe has rarely featured for the Premiership side this season, making only four appearances. Interestingly, he is out of contract at the end of the season.

Ibe was linked with a loan move to Celtic back in August, but Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe claimed that the player wasn’t for sale.

Move for player is a gamble worth taking

That might have changed now. Signing Ibe is a gamble that is worth taking by Neil Lennon’s side. If he can get back to the form that saw him once signed by Bournemouth for £15 million, then he could make a big impact for the Hoops in the second-half of the season.

The one problem could be the player’s lack of game time this season. However, if he can keep himself fit then he can contribute to the Hoops’ quest for nine in a row.

Celtic should submit a bid of around £2 million for the player. That would be a good deal for player whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Ibe is the sort of player who could help the Hoops win the title. Celtic should strongly consider making a move for the player.
