Cameron Carter-Vickers has been a pivotal player for Celtic over the years and a key reason why the team have been so dominant.
Whilst the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi have been able to be measured with their goals, you can’t really use numbers to measure Cameron Carter-Vickers other than his big-game performances and consistency.
Peter Grant shared how the 26-year-old has been ‘fantastic’ for Celtic ever since he joined from Tottenham in 2021, as he told Go Radio.
The Bhoys legend also expressed his delight and added that it would be ‘deserving’ if Cameron Carter-Vickers signed a new contract at Parkhead, after being told it’s a possibility.
His current deal runs until 2026 and there are thoughts that a new deal could be on the offing for the Englishman.
This would be music to the ears of the Celtic fans because recent reports have also suggested that Davis Moyes’ West Ham United want to sign the hard-hitting centre-back.

“He has done fantastic since he has come in,” said Grant. “I have watched him for a long time.
“He has been a great asset. Great leadership. Strong and competitive. It helps young Liam Scales, who I think has been outstanding. It helps him to have someone of that experience in games under his belt and talking him through games. Sometimes we don’t give these guys credit for and it’s such a massive thing.
“Carter-Vickers has been remarkable and he does deserve that if he gets that (new contract).”

Not many would have predicted it at the start of the season, but this is now Brendan Rodgers’ starting centre-back pairing.
It has been a stop-start for the duo because of the injuries Carter-Vickers has suffered.
But the hope is that he will now be back in action with league football returning this weekend – the previously unfancied Maik Nawrocki has started at the back instead.
