Celtic added another winger to their ranks when Nicolas Kuhn’s arrival was announced on Tuesday.

The signing of the 24-year-old has further indicated that certain players at Celtic are closer to leaving than ever before.

One of those is highly-rated winger, Rocco Vata, who has been attracting interest from Italy, including Como FC, a team with Cesc Fabregas on the coaching staff.

The 18-year-old hasn’t featured under Brendan Rodgers, and with his Celtic contract running out in the summer, the writing seems to be on the wall.

Clyde 1 pundit and Scottish journalist Roger Hannah called for the Celtic boss to be ‘trusted’ because he has been watching the youngster on a regular basis at Lennoxtown.

Yes, there might be a section of the fanbase that prefers Rocco Vata to be handed a new deal, so he can stay on.

But if Brendan Rodgers is happy to see him leave, then that’s all that matters.

Rocco Vata’s future after Nicolas Kuhn’s arrival

“It’s a delicate balancing act for Brendan Rodgers,” said Hannah. “At a time when there is a league title race on. Celtic are eight points clear and Rangers have two games in hand.

“Brendan Rodgers has to decide, at a time like this, can he try Rocco Vata in the team? Or does he believe that signing a player like Nicolas Kuhn is going to help Celtic over the finishing line to win the title again?

“One thing we will say. We don’t see much of Rocco Vata. But Brendan Rodgers sees him every day at Lennoxtown.

“If Brendan Rodgers felt he was ready to go into the first team, then he would be in the first team. Fans need to put a bit of trust in the manager and believe that the manager gets it right. If the manager doesn’t get it right, then that’s a different kettle of fish. People can pile on and critique him then.

“But Rocco Vata has been there a period of time now. He didn’t get much action under Ange either, so clearly Brendan Rodgers feels Celtic are better to move on and moving on means Nicolas Kuhn coming into the building.”

Brendan Rodgers part 2

Yes, this is a Treble-winning side Rodgers has taken charge of, far different to what he took over during his first spell.

But that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to want to put stamp his own authority on the side, even if it means making big changes.

That’s probably why the team’s performances, from the first half of the campaign, have been a little indifferent.

And as the season progresses, the hope is that Rodgers’ methods start to filter throughout the club again, as well as using his own players from the transfer market.
