One of Ange Postecoglou’s signings from last summer, Liam Scales, is wanted by Aberdeen on a permanent basis, The Scottish Sun reports.
The paper say that Jim Goodwin would ideally want to land him as an Aberdeen player outright, but may have to settle for a loan-to-buy deal, similar to the move that brought Ross McCrorie to Pittodrie.
Either way, it’s a sign that Scales may make a Celtic exit before he really got started after less than 12 months with the Bhoys.

Not that Scales didn’t get an opportunity. He trained every day with the Celtic first-team under Postecoglou and managed to make 13 appearances across the campaign.
Ultimately, if he hasn’t managed to force his way into the manager’s plans then it’s best for all parties that he gets first-team football elsewhere. It seems sensible that Celtic would also include a sell-on clause in any negotiations.
The report indicates that Scales is desperate for regular week-to-week football and that the switch could happen quickly over the next few days.
Celtic looking to strengthen beyond Liam Scales option
Celtic are on the hunt for a left-back in the summer transfer window, having already been linked with a number of names far and wide over the last few weeks.
Competition is needed for Greg Taylor’s place in the starting eleven and Scales apparently isn’t a contender.
The Bhoys are preparing for a Champions League campaign and need to improve on last season rather than keep things at a status quo.

This will naturally help the team compete well for domestic honours again, with a Scottish Premiership title to defend against a cocky Rangers.
A Scales move, while unfortunate in terms of a Celtic career, could end up being good news for everyone, including the player.
