Celtic will sign West Ham United striker Albian Ajeti this summer, The Guardian reports.
The paper believes the Swiss international is set to join the Hoops on an initial loan deal.
However, journalist Jacob Steinberg also reports that the Scottish champions are understood to have a £5m permanent signing option included should he impress throughout 2020/21.
Ajeti has struggled at West Ham United after joining from Basel last summer, making just nine appearances in the Premier League, all of which were from the bench.
There’s no reason to be despondent at that though.
It’s his spell in Switzerland that should provide optimism to supporters.
Like Mohamed Elyounoussi, he was an impressive performer at Basel.
He scored 43 goals and assisted 21 times there, from 96 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
That suggests he could be a potent addition to a Neil Lennon attack that needs more depth for our ten-in-a-row push.
Leigh Griffiths has had fitness problems and Patryk Klimala is yet to show what he can really do in a competitive setting.
With Vakoun Bayo injured again, that leaves just Odsonne Edouard as a prime pick upfront.

Ajeti has experience of winning titles too, along with Champions League group stage appearances and ten international caps to his name.
He fits the bill and will boost fan morale ahead of this weekend’s Scottish Premiership kick-off if the deal can be completed over the next few days.
Get this one done Celtic!
In other news, supporters have been left very impressed with the performance of Karamoko Dembele in today’s friendly against Hibernian.
