Celtic have been named amongst several European clubs interested in Real Valladolid and Spanish defender Ivan Fresneda.
The 18-year-old has spent his youth career at many different academy sides, including four years at the famous Real Madrid set-up.
However, in 2020, he joined La Liga Real Valladolid featuring for their B side, where his dramatic rise really kicked off.

Fresneda made his debut for the club earlier this year, in their 3-0 cup defeat to Real Betis, before keeping his place in the side for the following week against Burgos.
Although he didn’t make another appearance for the senior side for the rest of the campaign, he was part of the squad that helped gain promotion back to the top flight.
In the 2022/23 campaign, the Spanish youngster has become more of a regular feature, breaking into the side and playing seven games.
He was also handed his first four caps for the Spain under-19s side, playing in two qualifying fixtures against Albania and Belgium in September.
His quick rise on the club and international scene appears to have caught the eye of clubs from across Europe, with several reportedly interested in the teenager.
According to Eldesmarque, Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side are one of eight teams from France, Italy and the UK interested in the talented youngster.

Celtic’s recent transfer developments and big money talk could rule Hoops out of Fresneda chase.
Clubs such as Arsenal, Southampton and AC Milan are also quoted as some of the interested clubs, with Fresneda clearly catching the eye of recruitment teams.
It certainly appears that the Spaniard is an exciting player for the future, given he is already performing at La Liga level for Real Valladolid.
There is a chance Celtic were watching the youngster closely at one stage as a potential replacement for Josip Juranovic, who is attracting plenty of interest of his own this winter.
However, with the recent signing of Canadian full-back Alistair Johnston, you would imagine a pursuit of another player in the same position seems unlikely.
Especially when you consider the Spanish youth international is being touted for big-money moves, outside of Celtic’s bracket in terms of finances.

It will be interesting to see where the talented prospect goes from here, and he looks certain to have a promising career in football.
In my opinion, unfortunately, from Celtic’s point of view, at this point in time, it seems unlikely we will see the Bhoys make a big money move for a rising star in Spanish football.
In other news, Victor Wanyama details the crucial role Alistair Johnston will help fill at Celtic.
