Wigan Athletic winger Jamal Lowe is attracting big interest from Celtic this summer, The Daily Mail has reported this week.

The English Championship side have entered administration meaning there could be something of a feeding frenzy on their first-team talents.

One of their most-featured players throughout 2019/20 has been Lowe, making 45 appearances in the second-tier.

Celtic are now said to be keen on the attacker, with competition for his signature coming from Millwall and Cardiff City, according to the report.

Neil Lennon has already retained the services of Southampton winger Mohamed Elyounoussi on loan for the season but after the departures of Jonny Hayes and Daniel Arzani could do with more options on the flanks.

James Forrest will play the majority of matches at right-wing but more competition and another option to help save his legs for the biggest matches would be ideal.

Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele are available, but both have yet to make their case to play more regularly.

Lowe has scored six goals and assisted five more in league action over the last 12 months.

He would likely have to be more productive than that to be considered a Celtic success.

His 2018/19 season in League One was more impressive, scoring 15 goals and assisting nine with Portsmouth (Transfermarkt).

Now 25, he’s coming into his prime years and may even be available cheap due to the financial situation at Wigan.

His name is one to keep an eye on between now and October, when the transfer window shuts.

In other news, Neil Lennon is hoping to bring in a goalkeeper ‘sooner rather than later’.
