Celtic are one of the clubs interested in signing West Ham United attacker Grady Diangana this summer, The Sun reports.

The paper believes that scouts from the Scottish champions have been left impressed by his performances for West Brom over the last year, where he has made 28 appearances on loan from the Premier League outfit.

West Ham are said to be keen on retaining his services but may not be able to off the winger the first-team football he badly wants to continue his development.

That means he may leave the London Stadium on a permanent basis.

The Hammers’ reported asking price of £15-20m would rule Celtic out of the running on that end but another loan would possibly be a viable option for the 22-year-old.

Dutch giants Ajax are also keen on the player, the report states.

He’s scored seven goals and assisted six times in the Championship throughout 2019/20 (Transfermarkt), helping West Brom into an automatic promotion spot behind Leeds United.

Celtic have James Forrest and Mohamed Elyounoussi available on the wings for the coming campaign but lack depth beyond that duo.

Karamoko Dembele has not yet started a competitive match and Mikey Johnston had to fight against fitness problems last term.

Jonny Hayes and Daniel Arzani left the club at the end of last season while Marian Shved looks miles away from starting contention.

Loans aren’t ideal but may be necessary if we are to sign quality players for our ten-in-a-row push.

Diangana has impressed in the English second-tier and that’s an indication he is capable of competing at Scottish Premiership level, potentially ready to take the next step and shine in Europe too.

In other news, Celtic are said to have already made contact with Lyle Taylor’s representatives.
