Celtic are to push on with plans to sign Andraz Sporar this week, according to The Daily Record.
Manager Neil Lennon confirmed in late December that Sporar was one of a number players that the Hoops were looking at in the January transfer window, with talks said to have already taken place (BBC Scotland).
The Record report that despite Dynamo Kiev and Bristol City showing interest in the player, Celtic are still leading the chase to land the £5m-rated player.
Negotiations are now set to continue over the coming days, with Lennon apparently impressed by scouting reports from his performances for Slovan Bratislava this season.
How has he been performing?
There’s no doubt that Sporar is enjoying a productive campaign.
To date he’s netted a healthy 20 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt). When you consider that that seven of those have come in Europe, with five in the group stages of the Europa League, it paints an interesting picture.
He scored against Wolves, Besiktas and Braga in the competition, highlighting his potential to play at the kind of level expected of Celtic strikers.

With the Hoops lacking competitive options beyond Odsonne Edouard, it’s definitely an area of the pitch we should be looking to improve this month.
Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Bayo just aren’t getting the job done and Sporar could raise standards in the striking department, also helping Edouard push his game on.
