Celtic are determined to not to entertain letting Odsonne Edouard leave the club this January, despite the player himself being keen on a Premier League move, 90min.com report.
The outlet believes that massive cash-rich clubs such as Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are all monitoring the progress of the Frenchman, who is seen as a viable alternative option to Lyon’s Moussa Dembele.
The report states that Edouard is eager to explore the possibility of moving on but that Celtic are unlikely to sanction a move mid-season, primarily because of our current title race and Europa League opportunities.
Neil Lennon’s Scottish champions face a massive fight to retain their crown, while every fan is dreaming of an extended knockout run in Europe.
Losing Edouard would obviously be a critical blow to those ambitions given his importance to the first-team.
Major sales should always happen in a summer window
There are realities when it comes to Celtic holding on the biggest stars at the club. Players such as Dembele and Edouard are unlikely to pledge their entire careers to the Bhoys. We know that when they sign.
However, January is never the time for Celtic to sell and if we truly need to cash in on assets then it should always be during the summer.

Edouard has already scored 16 goals and assisted 15 times this season (Transfermarkt). Letting that kind of firepower go in the middle of our quest for nine-in-a-row is unthinkable.
Even if we invested in a capable replacement there would be no guarantee of that player settling quickly and hitting the ground running in Lennon’s team.
