Sky Sports have provided a Saturday update on the Celtic interest in goalkeeper Mat Ryan this summer.
It was reported overnight by The Scottish Sun that Ryan could well be Ange Postecoglou’s first signing as Celtic boss.
Sky have also reported Celtic interest this afternoon. The club are said to be assessing goalkeeping options. They are now weighing up an offer for the Brighton player.
However, no formal talks have yet taken place.
Multiple clubs are chasing his signature. That includes Arsenal who had him on loan last season, where he made three appearances.

Postecoglou and the goalkeeper worked together with the Australian national team. Ryan has 59 caps in total, many of which have come under the new Bhoys manager, including at World Cups. [Transfermarkt]
Mat Ryan could solve goalkeeping trust issues at Celtic
Celtic are understandably considering a goalkeeping revamp. None of the three senior goalkeepers convinced last season. Scott Bain, Vasilis Barkas and Conor Hazard all had spells in the team.
Frankly, many supporters don’t trust any of them. Ryan is a shot-stopper working at an elite level and is obviously well known and trusted by the new manager. That could go a long way towards solving our problems between the sticks.
Ryan’s contract is up next summer and he is expected to leave Brighton during this transfer window.

The stars are aligning on an affordable and sensible signing for the Bhoys. Will Ryan want to follow his old boss to Glasgow? Or does he still harbour Premier League ambitions?
One to watch, for sure.
