Neil Lennon was spotted at the Connah’s Quay versus Paritzan Belgrade Europa League match on Thursday night. Reports have since emerged that he was on a scouting mission.

The player, as reported by the Scottish Sun, that Lennon was watching was Partizan centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic.

Reportedly linked with Italian giants

Pavlovic, who is only 18, featured in the game which was won 1-0 by Belgrade. The report goes on to say that Pavlovic is highly-rated and has been linked with a move to Juventus.

Should Celtic manage to sign the player, you would imagine that he is being signed for the future, and not for the present.

Unlikely to go into Celtic side right away

The player may be highly-rated. However, it would be expecting a bit much for him to go into the Celtic side right away.

Celtic seemingly have a number of centre-backs at the club already. The likes of Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer are likely to be the main centre-backs at the club in the season ahead.

However, should the Hoops sign Pavlovic it could be a sign that they see the player as a mainstay for years to come.

Of course, at the moment it is only rumours. Perhaps Lennon was scouting another player. It is a good sign for Celtic though that the club are continuing to look for new signings even though four players have arrived at Celtic Park so far this season.
