Robert Gumny would be ideal addition to the Celtic squad

Despite the recent arrival of Hatem Abd Elhamed, Celtic should not be giving up on their hunt for a right-back. Elhamed can play right-back, but he has played more as a centre-back in recent years.

Therefore, the Hoops should be looking to add a right-back before the transfer window closes. One player that they could enquire about is one time transfer target Robert Gumny.

Reports from Poland in January claimed that the Hoops were interested in the player, but no move occurred. However, now is the time for the Hoops to resurrect their interest in the player.

Very experienced player

Gumny is a very experienced player despite being only 21. Last season he made 21 appearances for Lech Poznan after returning from a knee injury. The season before that he made 38 appearances.

A new dawn beckons for Celtic in Europe, as Joe Hart shows his class once again

Therefore, he wouldn’t have any fears about being placed into the Celtic team, he is used to playing in big games already.

Poznan would no doubt want to keep hold of the player – who is a Polish under-21 international – for a few more seasons.

Could be Hoops right-back for years

That shouldn’t put Celtic off from making a bid though. He has the chance to be the Hoops’ first-choice right-back for years to come if he moves to Glasgow.

Celtic haven’t been afraid to spend this summer, therefore they should test the waters with a £4 million bid for Gumny.

Hopefully it would be accepted, but it not, that should not stop the Hoops from making another bid. Right-back is too important for that.
