Celtic transfer target Romaine Sawyers is currently still a Brentford player. He played 45 minutes for the Championship side in their pre-season friendly on Saturday against Dynamo Kyiv.
Sawyers started the game, but was replaced at half-time, and the game ended goalless.
Reportedly had bid rejected

Celtic are definitely interested in the midfielder. The Daily Mail recently reported that the Hoops had a bid of around £1.5 million rejected for the player.
The Daily Record has revealed that a number of Championship clubs, including Leeds, are interested in the player, that Brentford rate at £2.5 million.

If Celtic really want to sign the player, you would hope that another bid would be submitted as soon as possible.
Should be signed in time for Champions League tie
Should the bid be accepted, then Sawyers could make his next appearance in a Hooped jersey. Ideally the player would be signed in time for the second round of the Champions League qualifiers.

The deadline to make signings for that game is 11pm on the 18th of July. However, as the Hoops are still in round one action on Wednesday, they will not have much time to get the deal done.
However, it does seem like the player is one that Neil Lennon is very keen to sign. Therefore, the club should move to get the deal done before the deadline.
It would be a boost to the Hoops ahead of the second round of the qualifiers.
