Reported Celtic target Ryan Fraser is looking for a six-figure per week salary this summer as he prepares to leave Premier League side Bournemouth, The Scottish Sun reports.
Website Read Celtic published an exclusive report last week stating that Celtic had enquired about the winger’s services ahead of the new season, knowing he’d be available on a free transfer.
However, the Scottish champions are not viable candidates for his signature and the 11-cap Scotland international will seek a stay in the English top-flight.
The Scottish Sun reports that the six top sides in the Premier League have all been interested in the player at various points over the last 12 months, meaning his market value when it comes to a wage packet is well beyond our capabilities.
Neil Lennon could do with another winger ahead of our ten-in-a-row push with Mohamed Elyounoussi still not confirmed to be staying and Marian Shved on the verge of an exit.
Fraser is a talented star at the elite level.
During the 2018/19 season, he scored seven goals and assisted 14 in the Premier League (Transfermarkt), marking him out as one of the top attackers in the division.
Clearly that kind of quality would have gone down a treat at Celtic Park.
Ultimately though it’s never been that realistic a transfer and while the Hoops were correct to enquire to his representatives about his availability, you can’t blame the 26-year-old former Aberdeen man for seeking the biggest contract of his career.
Celtic will have to move on to other wide targets ahead of the new season kicking off in August.
