Celtic captain Scott Brown has been impressed with how Celtic’s recent signings have acquitted themselves since joining the club.
Christopher Jullien, Boli Bolingoli and Hatem Abd Elhamed were all excellent in the 2-0 win over Rangers before the international break.
Brown has called on those players and the rest of Celtic’s new arrivals to keep up that level of performance.
“The new boys were fantastic”
“The new boys were fantastic at Ibrox. They’ve set their standard now, and they need to make sure they push on from there” he said, as quoted by Celtic’s Twitter account.

Brown will no doubt be quick to let his team-mates know if they are not setting the standards required at Celtic. That is what a captain has to do.
Brown is correct with his comments though. The performances that the new Bhoys put in at Ibrox should be the standard that they are kept to every time they play for the Hoops.
That might not be easy to do. It could sometimes be hard for a player to get motivated for a game at home against a relegation threatened team for example.
Could lose place in team if standards are not maintained
However, the player could easily lose their place in the team if standards are not maintained, due to the size of the squad Celtic currently have.
It has been a good start to the season for Celtic’s new signings. They have helped the Hoops recover from the catastrophe that was exiting the Champions League.
Now is when they must kick on, and take the Hoops to the next level. Brown is just the player to ensure that happens.
