We continue our look back at how Celtic’s players fared in season 2018/19 with a look at Celtic number 63 Kieran Tierney.

Kieran Tierney had another good season for Celtic. He didn’t hit the heights of previous seasons due to injury issues.

However, he still managed to play 40 games for the Hoops and his only goal of the season was an important one, against RB Leipzig in the Europa League.

He is currently recovering from a double hernia operation, and is in Austria with Celtic for their pre-season tour.

The big story though, is Tierney’s future with Celtic.

Arsenal have reportedly had two bids for the player turned down by Celtic, which fall short of Celtic’s £25 million valuation.

Remains to be seen if Arsenal make another bid

It remains to be seen if Arsenal make any other bids for the player, or if any other sides make a move for the left-back.

Should Tierney leave Celtic, the Hoops must do all they can to get the most money they can for the player. £25 million is a good start, but when you see the money players have transferred for in England, the Hoops board should look to get even more.

Celtic will want the situation with Tierney’s future resolved as soon as possible. They won’t want any potential deal to drag on for weeks.

For now though, this looks to be the transfer story of the summer for the Hoops.
