Following Celtic’s emphatic 5-2 win over Motherwell, Neil Lennon provided a brief transfer update for the Hoops support.
However, his comments may be a tad concerning for the Celtic fans. He has revealed that the club may have to move players on before more new arrivals come in.
“We don’t want any other players to leave our major players if you want to call it that” Lennon told BBC Scotland, as cited by the Daily Record.
“Cut the squad a little”

“We are going to have to cut the squad a little if we want to add to it in other areas. Obviously we have got the Kieran transfer done, and then we can assess things over the next couple of days.”
The fact that the Hoops have recently banked £25 million for Kieran Tierney but Lennon is suggesting that Celtic need to sell before they buy will be a bit alarming to the Hoops support.
Fair enough if it is fringe players, but surely Celtic can sign more players without selling first?
Left-back situation cannot be allowed to continue

The situation at left-back in particular cannot be allowed to continue for much longer. The Hoops only have one left-back in the squad, Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo. Another must be brought into the squad as soon as possible.
The next few weeks will no doubt be frantic for Celtic, as there will be constant transfer speculation. Perhaps Lennon is trying to dampen down expectations for the rest of the window. But with £25 million in the bank, fans will not want to hear that.
