Some Celtic supporters have been encouraged after hearing about the fee that Southampton reportedly want for on-loan winger Mohamed Elyounoussi.
The Daily Record reported over the weekend that if Neil Lennon wants to add the player to his squad on a permanent basis it will cost £9m to land him this summer.
The paper say that Saints are keen to cut players who are no long in their plans, with the club only shelling out an initial £12m fee to Basel for him.
That means he comes into the upper end of Celtic’s price range, with it said that the Hoops paid a similar fee for Odsonne Edouard in 2018.
Elyounoussi was looking like a hot talent in Lennon’s team prior to an injury, netting seven goals and creating six assists in just 13 appearances (Transfermarkt).
That kind of firepower, which was also on display in the Europa League, is obviously very useful and if he has a strong second half to the season then signing him will certainly be high on the minds of fans.

Some supporters are already keen to see a permanent move come to fruition, feeling he has the kind of quality we need to progress as a club.
These fans have taken to Twitter over the last couple of days to share their thoughts on it all…
