Some Celtic fans are gutted to see Scott Sinclair on his way out of the club
Some Celtic supporters are not happy that attacker Scott Sinclair appears to be on the verge of leaving the club to join Preston North End.
As reported by STV, the winger has completed a medical and is set to become a part of Alex Neil’s squad, three-and-a-half-years after making the switch to Celtic Park.
Sinclair was an absolute sensation for a time at the Scottish Champions, most notably during our 2016/17 ‘Invincibles’ season.
During that campaign, the Englishman netted a superb 25 goals in all competitions, also registering 13 assists. He was a near-constant danger when in the team and terrorised defences up and down the country.
In recent seasons his star had begun to wane and by the time Neil Lennon into the club it had become clear he wasn’t operating to the same high standard that had made him such a fan favourite.
This season he has struggled for game time in Lennon’s side and with less than six months before his current contract expires, it makes perfect sense for him to exit the Hoops.

That hasn’t stopped some fans being upset with the news though, either just sad to say goodbye to him or even thinking that he could still do a job in Lennon’s starting eleven.

Wether we like it or not, Celtic is first and foremost a business. With Sinclair going I must say I’m a bit gutted. I thought he’d do a turn and his service has been brilliant through the trebles. Now looking to punt eddy!! To lose this league will be gross negligence! A liberty!

Gutted Sinclair is off to Preston. Hope he does well and their fans enjoy him as much as us. Been superb during his time with us. Real shame he’s been treated so terribly the last year or so.

@ClydeSSB Gutted that Scott Sinclair has left Celtic, It leaves a bitter taste how he was treated in the last few months by the club after what he’s achieved over his time at Parkhead. Rate him better than the likes of Elyounoussi and Johnston who is still learning

Bit gutted Sinclair has left,no denying the guys stats have been frightening since his arrival and his contribution and attitude has been 2nd to none. Leaves the club with my best wishes and a thank you for all he's done. His song was class also 🙁🍀
