Celtic continue to monitor the progress of Dundee United striker Lawrence Shankland, according to an exclusive report in The Daily Record.
The red hot forward, who has scored an impressive 15 goals already this season, is also attracting the attention of rivals Rangers, say the paper.
He joined up at Tannadice on a free transfer during the summer window after a successful spell at Ayr United.
First proving himself as a lethal goalscorer in Scottish League One, he’s been in rampant form in the second tier for over a year now. It’s form that is apparently now attracting the interest of bigger clubs.
The Record believe that Hoops talent spotter Tosh McKinlay was in attendance during United’s most recent match, where Shankland netted a hat-trick in a 6-0 rout.
Although he’s yet to prove himself at the top level, he’s certainly a player worth keeping an eye on in the event he show’s even more progress.
However, given Celtic can already called upon Odsonne Edouard, Vakoun Bayo and Leigh Griffiths already, it’s fair to say the transfer report hasn’t gone down too well with some fans.

Some supporters are unconvinced any kind of move is in the offing, or simply believe he’s not good enough to wear the Hoops.
