Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has been the subject of transfer reports this weekend, with website Get French Football News believing that Monaco made an approach for the player.

The outlet state that while the Ligue 1 side are keen on the striker, Celtic have rejected the advances and made it clear they don’t want to sell the player this January.

It’s also said that Edouard himself is willing to stay beyond this month and help the Hoops retain the Scottish Premiership title.

Clearly the prospect of losing the Frenchman in the midst of a title race and chase for other trophies is unthinkable.

His scoring tally for the season now stands at 19 goals, with the U21 international also creating 15 assists (Transfermarkt).

Thankfully, Celtic appear to be taking a sensible approach and aren’t looking at cashing in when it could derail our season.

It’s no surprise that teams are interested but as long as Peter Lawwell and the rest of the money men at Celtic Park protect Lennon’s squad then there is no harm in sides having a look.

As some fans have noted, his eventual exit seems inevitable.

However, as long as we maximise his value, sell him at a time convenient to us and adequately replace him, then it’s unlikely to be too much of an unpopular decision.

These supporters have had their say on this latest speculation, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts today…
